Hey everyone! This is Zathura (Professor Beech, Steven, etc.) checking in again. I plan on making some changes around here, basic ones, before I get down and dirty with revamping and updating our roleplaying stuff. Frankly, I'm a little appalled at myself of two years ago. With that said, I will update again shorty.

Last Updated: January 1, 2007 (yes, I am such a loser that I intend for this site to be up for years to come!)

Welcome to Pokemon Shefir Region! Er, I think I will fill this with unimportant false rhetoric later, when we actually have members, 'kay? Awesome...

...

Um, we have members now (and surprisingly many, for the time we've been up), but I still can't resist my, um, relaxedness to write something meaningful...

So, er, welcome to Pokemon Shefir. Don't eat raw sugar.

...

OMG, there's space now! So now I can actually use all this real estate for something not-fluff.

On this forum, I disdain many of the regular rules on other forums. For instance, I don't care if you bump anything (even if it's months old...however, don't bump something too fast, 'cause it's impolite), if you advertise, etc. Indeed, too many rules on a Pokemon roleplay forum does seem a little out of character...

However, I would appreciate courtesy. I'm not gonna force anyone to be polite, because I hate it when people make you act like you feel one way when you don't. A facade of sincerity does no one good.

So, staff will never intervene in flames. We will simply move it to the Napalm Convention...and watch the fireworks! We gotta get our kicks somehow...

Be warned, though, that being a jerk will make other people dislike you. And if the staff dislikes you, we will work very hard to find something you did wrong and ban you. So being a nice person is good. A full list of our short rules are found here.

Right now, the forum is going through lots of graphical changes. If you dislike them, or just feel like spamming my inbox, you can drop me a line here.

Many of the really important documents of Shefir are here. Rules, roleplaying notes, and a likely plethora of announcement-type material is cached here. This space also functions as a question and suggestion board. Clarify confusion about any crucial aspect of the site, as well as suggesting improvement, here.

Every now and then, some of us might have that inaffable urge to fire up a high school roleplay (maybe high schoolers?), or something of that sort...for that tragic purpose, this board. Meritorious roleplays are welcome, too.

Roleplaying threads that have been "completed" or have "expired" are placed here. They are both in quotes because this is not really an absolute condition; threads can be put in and taken out fairly arbitrarily. Post in any thread to have it removed. Threads that are simply old are also thrown in here, to be reclaimed, hopefully, at a later date.

Character Sheets
[ ]Character Sheets
Before you dive into Shefir's delicately contructed universe, you need to anchor yourself (or yourselves, as it may be) firmly in that universe. For that, you must create a profile for each character you intend on roleplaying with. Afterwards, a Mod will either accept your profile or offer suggestions until such time that it can be approved.

[ ]NPC Database
Besides your "main" characters that you fashioned profiles for, there are "non-player characters" who also must populate Shefir. These range from the disposable (minor trainers) to those with semi-full-time users (such as Gym Leaders). Here, you can access descriptions of all of those NPC's, apply to "be" one, and submit ideas for new ones.

[ ]Cadet Town
A quaint little town nestled in the Shefir Peninsula...Here, aspiring young trainers from all over Shefir visit the renowned Professor Beech for their first Pokemon...Beech is the Pokemon authority in Shefir, and may have things for you to do from time to time. Also living here are the Oneders, very pleasant, albeit eccentric, family.

[ ]Route 1
Here, competitive green trainers test their battling guile against each other and the neighboring Pokemon, none of which are very strong or hostile. Get your first taste of battling here! This Route will take you to Chiffon City.

[ ]Chiffon City (2 sub-boards)
Another small stop on your trip to Pokemon Mastery. Visit the PokeMart to stock up on supplies for the journey ahead, or visit the Pokecenter for a little rest for yourself and your Pokemon. There's a park around here that seems to be a popular spot for Pokemon battling, as well as the Chiffon Chapter Contest Hall, so hop to it!

[ ]Route 2
A pleasant, breezy Route, where the Pokemon of woodland and plainland mellow and play together in perfect harmony. Watch out though, as there are some hostile Pokemon about as the trees thicken and you approach the forest, so it would be wise to be prepared with Antidotes...

Ochre forest goes right up to the edge of town, a few narrow lines of trees coming into town as well. The locals are totally enamored with the abundant plant life 'round here, and most are very competent gardeners. The Pokemon University, Central Quarter and the first gym on your journey reside here!

The Route on the other side of the other side of the Sangria river, opposite of Route 3. Test out your skill with a Rod, or perhaps seek the shade of the shademaster locusts and maples scattered haphazardly 'twixt here and the next town.

Lake Sangria is in between Russet Town and Zinnwaldite City. It is the source of the raging Sangria River, and its sparkling waters draw flocks of tourists fron all around the country to swim and play on its shimmering waters.

[ ]Russet Town
Lying on the east bank of the Lake Sangria and at the foot of the Sienna Mountains, Russet Town sees lots of passerby, and makes a lot of money off of tourism. The Gyn Leader here is formidable, and trainers will have to muster up quite a bit of their battling guile to best him. The Russet Chapter Contest Hall is also here.

There are two options for getting across the Sienna Mountains. The first is the high road, Route 6, that goes over the mountains. Or one can choose to go under them, by means of the Carmine Tunnel. Either Route will take you to Route 7.

Across the Sienna Mountains
[ ]Route 7
A rather plain Route with quite a bit of tall grass, scarce trees and an abundance of Pokemon. These conditions seem to attract many Normal and the occasional Electric Pokemon, so horde those Pokeballs!
00
[ ]Gainsboro City (1 sub-board)
A bustling metropolis, jam-packed with things to do. Four Routes from north, south, east and west intersect here, making Gainsboro City prosperous from trade and tourism. There's a department store, Game Corner, the radio tower and loads more. From here you may go either west to Malachite Town, north to Cerise Town or east to Wisteria City.
00
West of Gainsboro
[ ]Route 8
This Route is the centre of a raging territorial dispute between the local Zangoose and Seviper, and is showing no signs of abating. Caution should be exercised, as both factions are aggressive. This Route will take you to Malachite Town.
00
[ ]Malachite Town
A pleasant enough town, though it's previous peace is disturbed somewhat by the Zangoose/Seviper turf war. Nonetheless, the town is still quiet and peaceful, and has numerous spots of interest, including the Pokemon Breeders Association HQ.
00
[ ]Safari Zone
Head on to the Shefir Safari Zone for one of the best bargains in the region. For only 100p a pop, you get 30 Safari Balls and a venerable cache of other goodies to snag as many Pokemon as your heart desires until time runs out. Some of the rarest Pokemon in Shefir can be found here, so the Safari Zone truly merits a visit!
00
[ ]Route 9
Though certainly a more pleasant Route than its predecessor, it still has its share of hassles. This Route seems to be a favorite place of Dark Pokemon, particularly Murkrow, to ambush unsuspecting passerby, so be wary. Leads to the entrance of the Dodger Falls.
00
[ ]Dodger Falls
A somewhat lengthy cave betwixt Routes 9 and 10, you'll need Flash and Strength to make it far in the caves. Waterfall is also needed to explore the waterfalls in their fullest glory. Be quiet lest you disturb any dormant Pokemon. Other than that, venturing through Dodger Falls should not be incredibly difficult!
00
[ ]Route 10
A very short Route that bridges the gap between the Dodger Falls and Heliotrope City. A few, for the most part, calm and collected Pokemon reside here, but it is very unlikely one would be jumped here.
00
[ ]Heliotrope City
A balmy town sprawled along the coast, Heliotrope City yields plenty of attractions. Cool off and sunbathe at the beach, haggle at the vast outdoor marketplace, stop by the fisherman's house for enlightenment, compete in the Heliotrope Chapter Pokemon Contest or push your battling skill to the limit against the Gym Leader, this town has it all!
00
North of Gainsboro
[ ]Route 11
As one progresses further north, the weather is starting to become more and more frigid, Ice Pokemon appearing in increased abundance. Come prepared with Asphears and Full Heals to combat the frost, and go forth!
00
[ ]Fountain of Alice
A practical oasis in the midst of this stinging weather, the Fountain of Alice is a blessing and a mystery. Its waters always stay warm and never freeze over, even in the harshest of blizzards. No one is sure who or what Alice is, but it is of little import. Herds of Pokemon make residence here, and lush vegetation grows at its edges...
00
[ ]Route 12
Ice Pokemon have become the norm, and Pokemon who cannot endure the cold are few and far between. However, civilization is not far away from this icy wilderness, and it is not a far ways from Cerise Town. Pokemon will seldom attack without provocation...which is usually just breathing in their territory, so watch out!
00
[ ]Cobalt Cave
The cave lies in Route 12, where the traveler can either pass it and head onto Cerise Town (like a sane person) or enter into Cobalt Cave and try to navigate its depths. The cave may yield untold treasures, but is also perilous with many powerful and sometimes hostile Pokemon. Flash, Strength and Surf are needed to explore the caves...
00
[ ]Cerise Town
Greetings from Cerise Town, the northernmost and chilliest town in Shefir! The locals' spirits remain at a high premium despite the sorrowful weather, and a visit here is well worth it. It is not uncommon for herds of Spheal and their relatives to pass through the town, adding endless mirth to the moods of tourist and local alike. Also here is a formidable Gym Leader, plus an amazing inn.
00
East of Gainsboro
[ ]Cycling Road
A steep downhill trek, only bikers are allowed here, as pedestrians can and likely will be grievously injured. Along with the insane mounted thrill-seekers, this area also has some tall grass to add to the excitement, so please stave off the rum whilst here. Leads to Route 14...
00
[ ]Route 13
Also known as Euclid's Pass because of the Route's tranquility. This Route is a haven for Normal Pokemon, with Chansey and Dunsparce appearing far more frequently than normall...Basically a continuation of Cycling Road, though devoid of unpleasant Pokemon and cyclists with little regard for life and limb.
00
[ ]Wisteria City
While not quite as busy and crowded as its western neighbor, Wisteria City gets more than its share of hustle and bustle! Alongside the local Gym is the Trick House, Enaeh Corporation headquarters and the Wisteria Chapter Contest House.
00
[ ]Route 14
As you approach the sea, the numbers of Water and the odd Electric Pokemon are increasing, along with the ever affluent Grass Pokemon. The days are getting warmer, the air wetter, the skies clearer. Some Pokemon are aggressive around here, but for the most part one can go about their business without much worry.
00
[ ]Bistre City
A behemoth of a city, second in size and livelihood to only Gainsboro City! While there's no Gym here, quite peculiar of a city of this stature, it more than makes up for it by hosting the massive Shefir Gigamall, with an unspeakable amount of shops and wares. Bistre City is also the major port in Shefir, and has a cruise service, along with a leisurely pier.
00
Back in Character- Sea
[ ]Route 15
A water Route, with nothing except the blank stretch of serene azure between here and the horizon. Water Pokemon are, of course, the norm (no, there are going to be Rock Pokemon out here). There are quite a few hostile Pokemon out at sea, though, so don't let the refreshing sea spray completely dullen your senses (no, that's the job of tequila!)...Leads to Route 16.
00
[ ]Route 16
Continuing along from Route 16, you are probably still cruising along on your Surfing Pokemon (probably like a Horsea or something; you sadistic creep)...unless you fancy yourself a swimmer. Regardless of the plausibility of that, the weather is getting nicer still, and the vicious schools of rabid Tenticruel and the like certainly seem less prolific...
00
[ ]Gamboge Town
A quiet, island village nestles among the rolling waves, Gamboge Town has no Gym. It does, however, serve as a rest stop for tired trainers traveling across the sea. The town has basic amenities, along with a few perks, including a weekly pinata festival.
00
[ ]Cardinal City (1 sub-board)
Here lies the very last town and Gym before the perilous Victory Road and Elite 4...and a huge stretch of aggravated sea. But before all that enticing stuff, you'll have the local Gym Leader to contend with, which is no easy task itself. You can also visit the Pokemon University, Southern Quarter, or the music shop if you wish to browse its hand-crafted wares.
00
North of Cardinal
[ ]Route 17
If one follows this Route all the way north, he will eventually hit land and arrive on Route 18. Quite a few aggressive Pokemon live around here, and the water can get very stormy and uncordial at times. Legend has it that the fabled Bronzed Pillar is hidden somewhere along this Route. Other than the inherent risk of getting lynched at every turn, this Route is fairly nice.
00
[ ]Route 18
A very nice Route, almost identical to Route 1. Very low-leveled Pokemon inhabit this Route. Leads to Cadet Town.
00
South of Cardinal
[ ]Route 19
Another sea Route...boring, predictable, you're going to die, yadda yadda ya. Heed the same warnings as before, and hope you survive to see another of these darn things...Leads to Route 20.
00
[ ]Route 20
Hopefully the last of these wretched things (unless I decide to make more, muhaha)...trust me, writing these things are as hard as you having to go through them. At any rate, beyond this Route lies Alizarin City and fame and ovation in the people's hearts forever, all the really awesome jazz. So start burning the midnight tequila as you Surf your way to glory...
00
Pokemon League
[ ]Alizarin City
This is the town where all the spectators and participants of the Alizarin Conference and Elite Four Challenge max and relax. Here are the basic amenities for the eight-badged trainer, along with Heracross' Grille, renowned throughout Shefir. It is the favorite spot for socialization and great food, with its regulars composed of the League participants...
00
[ ]Victory Road
Finally, after months of effort, perseverance and determination, the moment has come where it's all going to pay off. There is still one more obstacle left to conquer, and that is to overcome the fearsome Victory Road. Caution, EXTREME caution should be exercised, along with a large cache of healing items. Chances are the nearest PokeCenter is going to be a far, far ways off...
00
[ ]Alizarin Conference
The aforementioned moment has arrived! All eight of the Badges of Shefir are needed to progress further. Here, two major events take place. Every year, a huge round robin tournament takes place to decide the year's champion. Also, trainers may challenge the Elite Four year round. Succeeding in either of these feats shall prove extremely, maddeningly difficult...
